Fall is short in Park City, but it’s nothing short of spectacular. As the sunlight begins to wane, and the trees begin to display their colors, grab a seat at some of our favorite decks for a meal and glass of your favorite adult beverage to enjoy nature’s show.

HIGH WEST DISTILLERY SALOON

You’ll find the patio at the High West Distillery Saloon the perfect spot to spend a cool fall afternoon indulging in their tasty whiskey drinks. Take in the changing colors as you try the whiskey tasting flight letting the flavors warm you.

THE MONTAGE DEER VALLEY

With one of the most scenic views in Park City, enjoy a mountainside dining experience out on the deck of  Apex, Montage Deer Valley’s signature restaurant, overlooking the ski runs at Deer Valley. Take in fall in all its glory as you sip a glass of wine or one of their handcrafted cocktails, like the Wildfire: a mixture of High West Campfire Whisky, apple, maple and blackberry, and feast on iconic dishes with a twist, like their Teriyaki-glazed tuna burger that is brimming with flavor and accompanied by Asian chili-tahini slaw and heirloom greens

STEIN ERICKSEN LODGE

Relax and take in the views of the golden aspens on the expansive, wrap-around deck of Stein Ericksen’s Troll Hallen Lounge while perusing their seasonally-inspired menu. Experience tastes as bold and breathtaking as the mountain vistas that surround you, like in the Farmer’s Tomatoes, served on white bread with herb salt and mayonnaise, or the PLT, a classic with a twist, where an over-medium egg, prosciutto, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise mingle on wheat bread for a bite that will make your taste buds sing. Don’t forget a Stein’s Old-Fashioned to wash it all down.

ST. REGIS DEER VALLEY

What could be better than dining in a majestic mountain setting overlooking Deer Valley’s ski runs? The St. Regis’ Mountain Terrace restaurant offers an experience like none other, wining and dining, as you basque in the glory of fall foliage bursting all around you. The terrace is ideal for cocktails, and an alfresco lunch that could consist of some saffron-steamed mussels with grilled saffron toast, lemon, basil, and a glass of Champagne.

HARVEST

Overlooking Park City Mountain Resort, Harvest is a great spot to grab a coffee of your choice and a hearty and healthy breakfast while people watching and leaf-peeping. For a meal that will for sure fuel your autumn adventures, we would suggest the Nourish Toast: perfectly roasted beetroot and tomato, served on toasted sourdough, topped with salsa verde, pickled onion, herb salad, avocado, a soft-poached egg, and smoked salmon.

DEER VALLEY GROCERY CAFE

The patio at Deer Valley Grocery Cafe is a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy all the spoils of fall. Take in the views lakeside while surrounded by tall pines and quaking golden aspens, feasting on dishes as vibrant as the scenery around you, like the avocado and beet toast, which in our opinion is bursting with flavor and has a generous helping of beet hummus, avocado, feta cheese, fresh arugula, toasted pumpkin and sesame seeds, a single fried egg, on toasted sprouted wheatberry bread. But then there’s the lox plate: overflowing with smoked salmon, capers, whipped cream cheese, artisan lettuce, red onions, lemon, English cucumber, heirloom cherry tomatoes, dill, and a toasted everything bagel. Wash down your meal with a classic bloody mary and raspberry lemonade fizz, a great accompaniment to any brunch.

Or if you are trying to get an even closer look at nature’s beauty, take a gourmet meal to the hills! For the perfect picnic to enjoy at altitude, check out some of our favorite places to grab a packable lunch & go:

OUTDOOR DINING

AFTERWORD BY TUPELO

Afterword, a restaurant created by the Tupelo team is now open in Heber. At Afterword, you will find an expansive deck, enclosed with living walls and spread out bar spaces to accommodate both groups dining together, as well as couples looking to social distance. Enjoy live music while you dine on Friday and Saturday nights! There is also a cozy and charming inside if you prefer that, or the weather isn’t cooperating.

On the menu, there are a few dishes that had to come over to the new restaurant, like Tupelo’s buttermilk biscuits and deviled eggs. The style of the food remains similar, but fresh variations are added. Think Idaho trout with sweet corn and a tomato vinegar and rocky mountain elk meatloaf with collard greens. As much of the menu as possible is sourced locally from neighboring farms like Rustling Aspen Farms and Pamaw’s Organic Farm and will change with the seasons and available crops.

BLIND DOG RESTAURANT & SUSHI

Blind Dog is a family-run seafood restaurant offering the freshest and finest quality fish and sushi in town. They recently opened a new raw bar to commemorate 20 years of serving Park City and we can’t recommend it enough. You’ll love their Japanese inspired menu. It adds Park City culinary traditions to create award-winning plates that will leave even the pickiest eater satisfied.

This restaurant is equally praised for its outdoor patio. It’s elegantly lined with covered tables that lets you enjoy the refreshing mountain air over a drink from their impressive wine list or sushi from their affordable happy hour menu in comfort. Looking for a premium cut of steak instead of sushi? The Blind Dog is the spot for you.

RIVERHORSE ON MAIN

One of Park City’s most beloved restaurants, this new-American eatery offers an upscale menu of seasonal dishes with a focus on local ingredients. A meal at Riverhorse on Main is a true local Park City experience. While the main dining area is already an airy space with plenty of natural light, the balcony puts you right into the evening air above Main Street. The second-floor outdoor seating provides a commanding view of the downtown area and the surrounding mountains.

SILVER STAR CAFE

With views of Park City and Park City Mountain, The Silver Star Cafe is a great place to enjoy a meal outside especially if you’re coming off the mountain after a hike or mountain bike ride. Fuel up on their tasty brunch, lunch, or dinner menus, and if you stop by on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night revel in live music accompanying your meal.

TWISTED FERN

The Twisted Fern is a Park City foodie destination combining a relaxing bistro vibe with innovative cuisine. Chef and owner, Adam Ross, creates daring, yet accessible menus inspired by the seasons and made with fresh local ingredients. Here, you can find such standouts as roasted Lion’s Mane mushrooms with crab beignets and carrot pesto, and local Utah trout with a pine nut and gin agrodolce.

While their sleek dining room is one of our favorites, definitely check out their cozy patio. Soak up some rays over lunch, while sipping on one of their inventive cocktails, and noshing on their smaller plates. Or bring the whole foodie family for a night out.

CAFE TERIGO

If you are looking for Old World charm right in the heart of bustling Historic Main St., then check out Cafe Terigo. This Park City staple has been serving up classic and contemporary Italian cuisine to locals and visitors for over 30 years. With oversized umbrellas and bistro lighting, their patio delivers an elegant and rustic Tuscan feel.

By day, their patio is a great place for lunch and observing local culture. By night, the place transforms into an intimate date night under the stars. For lunch, start with their house-made ricotta and then try one of their many handcrafted pizzas—the asparagus and prosciutto is a local favorite! For dinner, try their classic pork and veal Bolognese. Reservations for dinner are strongly encouraged.
