If you’re planning your Park City summer vacation, we are so excited to welcome you to our mountain town. We have a plethora of wonderful mountain activities that might be overwhelming to navigate on your own. Below we’ve shared a sample itinerary of what an epic couple of days in Park City could look like. We hope this helps get the ideas and the excitement flowing!
DAY 1
GET INDOCTRINATED INTO THE WESTERN LIFESTYLE WITH A 2 HOUR MOUNTAIN HORSEBACK TRAIL RIDE TO START YOUR TRIP OFF RIGHT!
Once settled in your Abode enjoy your first day in Park City with some adventure and one of the best views in town! Follow your guide through a lush, forested mountain trail to a stunning overlook of the Jordanelle Reservoir. You will ride through beautiful alpine meadows, aspen groves, and pine trees while enjoying breathtaking views. This ride is great for the whole family yet also keeps the experienced rider satisfied.
After your afternoon of riding in the fresh air, you’ve probably worked up an appetite. Enjoy a meal over at the High West Saloon. Grab a table under the stars, and sip on a whiskey flight highlighting their award-winning bourbons and ryes, and dine on their delicious Western fair.
DAY 2
GET YOUR FEET WET WITH A GUIDED HALF DAY FLY FISHING TOUR THIS PARK CITY SUMMER
Today you’ll be starting the day on the earlier side with a guided half-day fly fishing lesson, as we all know the early bird gets the worm aka fish! If you are staying at one of our Abodes near Main Street, grab a delicious coffee to go from Harvest or Atticus and prepare for a fun day on the river. We’re lucky here in Park City as we have one of the United States’ great “blue-ribbon” fishing rivers nearby – The Provo. With such a quality river only minutes away, all you’ll need is a smile on your face and a skilled fishing guide to help your catch all the fish and create memories of a lifetime.
When you arrive back at your Abode take a moment to put your feet up and enjoy some quiet time before heading to lunch at Fiveseeds. This trendy spot has a great outdoor dining area with picnic tables to soak up that summer air. At FiveSeeds you’ll find great coffee, and great food as their menu is full of nourishing flavorful dishes that are crafted from the best in local, seasonal produce, with a definitive nod to the famed Australian foodie culture from where the owners hail. Satiate your appetite with their Fried Chicken Sando with crumbed chicken breast, Calabrian chili aioli, housemade dill pickles, and cabbage slaw which is to die for!
DAY 3
ENJOY THE TRAILS FROM TWO WHEELS ON A GUIDED MOUNTAIN BIKING TOUR
On day 3 head out on Park City’s world-famous mountain biking trails. Take a local mountain biking tour from an outfitter like White Pine Touring that can be customized to meet the needs of riders of all ability levels. Whether you’re working around time constraints, or simply want a taste of what Park City’s single-track has to offer, this tour is for you. Make no mistake, three hours is plenty of time for a complete mountain bike experience; which can be as leisurely or intense as you like. We suggest starting on the earlier side as it does get quite hot in the summertime here.
In the afternoon take a relaxing chair lift ride on the Town Lift and explore the trails of Park City Mountain. Meander through aspen groves and take in the views of our lush mountains. At the bottom of the Town Lift, you’ll find the charming Bridge Cafe. Grab a happy hour caipirinha at this Brazillian/American spot to cheers an amazing day 3 in Park City.
For dinner enjoy a delicious sushi dinner at Yuki Yama. Yuki Yama offers the freshest seasonal fish flown in from around the world. A contemporary mix of Japanese-inspired cuisine, featuring the best seasonal ingredients that are designed to encourage sampling and sharing at the table. Yuki Yama’s menu consists of both traditional Japanese sushi and noodle dishes, as well as more creative, modern sashimi plates and hot dishes.
DAY 4
RELAX AND REJUVENATE WITH A PRIVATE 90 MINUTE MASSAGE

TOP MOUNTAIN BIKING DESTINATION
Nestled in the Wasatch Mountains, Park City is surrounded by world-class mountain-biking trails. With 450 miles of mountain-biking trails accessible from town, the International Mountain Bicycling Association designated the city as the first gold-level Ride Center. There are technical trails, bike parks for all levels, and lift-access mountain biking at ski resorts during the summer. And if you want an experienced guide to show you best trails around, there are a number of reputable companies ready to take you for a ride. From easy single-track to heart-pounding technical trails, there’s something for everyone.
BEAUTIFUL HIKING
The mountains around Park City offer more than 100 miles of public hiking trails. There’s the partially paved 28-mile Rail Trail that runs from Park City to Echo Reservoir, networks of trails throughout the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, paths through nearby Wasatch Mountain State Park, and summer hiking at the ski resorts. All the trails have possible wildlife viewing and unique scenery.
SHOP, SHOP, SHOP, SHOP
When you need a break from the adrenaline rush of hiking and biking, check out the abundant shopping choices in Park City. There are high-end retailers, quaint shops, local goods, and galleries on and around Main Street. And if you’re in a bargain-shopping mood, there’s the massive Tanger Outlet Center at Kimball Junction, a short drive from downtown. Whether you’re looking for a good deal or want some designer goods, Park City is your shopping destination.
UNFORGETTABLE ZIP LINES
Park City in summer is the perfect time for a thrilling ride on a zip line. At Park City Mountain Resort, there’s the Flying Eagle (open in winter too) and Red Pine and Lookout zip lines. At Utah Olympic Park there’s the Extreme and Freestyle ZipRiders, some of the most popular attractions in the park. In most cases, the only limitation is height. So strap in and soar over incredible mountain scenery.
MOUNTAIN HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES
Take a peaceful, scenic ride above beautiful Park City and the surrounding mountains in a hot air balloon. You can soar high above the treetops or go low enough to see the abundant wildlife. Rides range from one to several hours long. And every September, Park City hosts Autumn Aloft, a three-day hot air balloon festival. BOBSLED RIDES
Ever wanted to experience the thrill of bobsledding? Then the Utah Olympic Park has the activity for you. Hop on a bobsled—with an experienced pilot—and roll down the track used in the 2002 Olympics. The bobsleds, modified for summer use on the concrete track, go up to 60 mph in less than a minute. If you want to try out a quick Olympic-level thrill, check out bobsledding in Park City.
ALPINE SLIDE
If you’re looking for a ride down an alpine slide, Park City has three options. For thrill-seekers, there’s the Alpine Coaster at Park City Mountain Resort, with an automated ascent up the mountain and a long ride down. Though it’s considered a roller coaster, riders still control their speed. Another slide option at Park City Mountain Resort is the Alpine Slide, with four tracks that go 3,000 feet down a luge-like slide. There’s also the Alpine Slide at Utah Olympic Park, a single-track slide with 18 banked turns. Whether you want a roller-coaster experience or a ride at an Olympic venue, Park City has three alpine slide options for you.
WHITEWATER RAFTING
With the Weber and Provo rivers nearby, whitewater rafting is a popular activity for Park City visitors and residents. Numerous adventure companies offer raft rentals or tours with experienced river guides, so you can choose your adventure. With nearby rivers, whitewater rafting is within reach.
FLY FISHING
Fly fishing opportunities abound around Park City. The Provo River is rated one of the best trout waters in the country, and it’s only minutes from Park City. Weber River, another blue-ribbon trout stream, is also nearby. Both rivers have heavy concentrations of brown trout as well as other species, and fly fishers are in the rivers year-round. And along with the plentiful fishing spots are several fly shops with knowledgeable employees. If you want to fly fish, Park City is a perfect base for some of the best fishing spots in the country.
HORSEBACK RIDING
Park City—with its mining town roots—offers horseback riding trails through aspen groves with incredible views of the resort town. Outfitters around the city offer group and private trail rides. There are even horseback riding trails through the ski resorts. For an authentic Old West experience, try taking a horseback ride in the mountains around Park City.
SPA
There’s no shortage of award-winning spas in Park City. You can experience salt stone therapies with materials from the Great Salt Lake, have a pigment-balancing facial, experience a body wrap, get a massage to ease your aching hiking muscles, or have your hair and makeup done for a night on the town. If you’ve been working hard hiking, biking, shopping, horseback riding, or golfing, it’s the perfect way to just relax and recover.
MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSES
Park City is known as a ski town, but summertime is golf time. With 15 golf courses in and around Park City, the hardest decision is which course to play. From the public Park City Golf Club to the courses at Wasatch Mountain State Park, golfing opportunities abound in Park City.
