Whatever the occasion may be, this ski home is the perfect spot for your next Park City getaway.  Book it now.

Park City, Utah is the perfect place to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including snowboarding, skiing, bobsledding, sleigh riding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City has it all.

It also boasts one of the most impressive arrays of winter vacation rentals Utah has to offer, from cozy to palatial. Guests who want their every need catered to during their stay can choose our concierge rental service. Abode Park City specializes in connecting guests with transportation, groceries, and lift tickets while providing them luxury winter vacation rentals throughout Deer Valley and Park City.

At some point, though, we know you’ll want to get off the slopes and have something to eat. Unlike many ski resort areas — which provide excellent sporting opportunities but hold guests hostage with substandard food — Park City offers exceptionally fine dining. Several of the restaurants here are run by chefs with international reputations, and even the locally-owned places offer panache. Here is a list of five great Park City restaurants that we recommend to visitors looking for a great dining experience.

350 Main

This downtown restaurant, run by chef Michael LeClerc, offers elegant “new American” cuisine in a casual setting. One half of the menu offers food that is rich in antioxidants and low in fat and calories; the other half is more traditional fare. We love the “tower of ahi and hamachi,” an appetizer composed of caviar, pineapple shoyu, and a wasabi-enriched sauce.

Zane Holmquist is the chef at this Stein Eriksen Lodge restaurant, located in the Deer Valley ski resort. The place is known for its lavish Sunday brunch, but you can also enjoy specialties like Stein’s Wild Game Chili, Elk Carpaccio, and fondue. The wine cellar holds 10,000 bottles — a vintage for even the rarest taste.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Located in the Hotel Park City and offering stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains to visitors while they dine, Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers visual treats like its Chop Salad and, of course, a full menu of steak options, including cowboy ribeye, filet and porterhouse. Kids with developed palates will be intrigued by the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the restaurant has a romantic ambiance for couples.

Cafe Terigo

Located on Main Street, Park City, Cafe Terigo specializes in food from Northern Italy and Southern France. Owner and Head Chef Ed Axtell has built a loyal clientele by offering a hospitable atmosphere, great service, and superb cuisine. We enjoyed the Duck Confit and Roasted Grapes and Veal Bolognese — elegant takes on our favorite comfort foods.

Also on Main Street, Wahso Asian Grill is an inviting space with dining alcoves that afford some privacy from the hubbub of this popular restaurant. Wahso is a great place for people-watching during the Sundance Festival, when the place is packed. Artifacts from throughout Asian make the atmosphere unique, and the menu combines traditional Asian favorites, like potstickers and Forbidden Tofu, with Red Curry Lamb Shank and Crab Crusted Salmon.

Park City is again lucky to be part of the Tour of Utah bike race this year. The race is held August 6th through 11th and covers 586 miles and 43,621 vertical feet of climbing. The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah started from the Southern Utah town of Brian Head on Tuesday, August 6th for its ninth run. At nearly 3,000 meters of elevation, Brian Head had the highest elevation start of any race in the US. The elevation and expected heat combined to support the race’s claim that it is America’s toughest stage race.

For the first time in the race’s history, the route began in Southern Utah and headed north toward Salt Lake City. The race will finish at Snowbird Ski Area and Summer resort.  Once again, the route of the final stage climbs through the scenic Wolf Creek Ranch, crosses the Heber Valley through Heber City and Midway before winding its way to the base of Empire Pass. This climb should witness another all-out assault by the pure climbers to see who the real King of the Mountains will be in this year’s race. Following a blistering descent down the 11 percent mine road they climbed one day earlier, the race will again finish in front of massive crowds on lower Main Street in Park City.

This race draws lots of visitors to Park City.  It’s a great weekend to come to town to enjoy the breezy mountain air and one of the greatest cycling events in the world.
