DRIVES TO LAKES AND RIVERS AROUND PARK CITY
The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is one of the 12 National Forests in the Intermountain Region as well as one of the urban National Forests in the Forest Service System. It covers an area that includes northern and north-central Utah, and southwestern Wyoming.
Just an hour’s drive from Park City, Strawberry Bay is long known as Utah’s premier fishing and boating paradise. Nestled high in the Uinta National Forest of the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, Strawberry Reservoir combines convenience and year-round accessibility.
Heading east from Kamas through the national forest, Mirror Lake Highway is one of the most popular mountain routes in the state. The road winds through farm and ranch lands and rises to heavily forested, mountain terrain, accented by meadows and rugged peaks. There are numerous access points into the High Uinta Wilderness along this byway.
WHAT TO PACK FOR A GREAT PICNIC
The best-liked sandwich (peanut butter and jelly, chicken salad, tuna fish, ALT) is the first choice when you think about having a picnic, whatever is your family favorite is always a great quick meal. You can also make it a wrap or easy breakfast burritos.
Don’t forget to add some veggies like carrots, cucumbers, radishes and cauliflowers to dip in your choice’s hummus or dip.
An easy sweet dessert can be chocolate chip cookies, fresh muffins or blueberry-lemon pie bars!
And don’t forget to bring water, the weather is really nice in our mountains but Utah is known for its dry air, stay safe! You will also need a cooler full of ice, to keep all your snacks and drinks refrigerated and ready to go.

FISHING
There are well over 1,000 natural lakes in the Uintas and more than 500 of them support populations of game fish. There are also over 400 miles of streams. Queant Lake, Mirror Lake and Fish lake are our favorites, where you will be able to find brook, cutthroat and rainbow trout, and also arctic grayling in Fish Lake.
Strawberry Reservoir is Utah’s best and people’s choice trout fishery. Why? It might have something to do with consistently good action for large rainbow & cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon; rainbows and cutts up to 24 inches are caught regularly; and larger fish show up occasionally.
The current regulations limit 4 fish statewide Trout/Grayling (in the aggregate). No more than 2 can be cutthroat trout under 15 inches, no more than 1 can be a cutthroat trout over 22 inches and all cutthroat trout from 15 to 22 inches must be immediately released. Please, release all cutts because they are needed to eat those fierce non-game fish. For official rules and how to get your fishing license click here!

FUN ACTIVITIES IN PARK CITY: WATER SPORTS
Jordanelle, Strawberry and Deer Creek Reservoirs are all nearby for a fun day out on the water. Book a half day or full day rental for our personal watercraft, standup paddle boards and kayak rentals. You can also rent boats for a full day.
Less than 20 minutes away from Park City, Jordanelle Reservoir is perfect for boating, wakeboarding, water skiing, and personal water crafts. Boat ramps are located at the Hailstone recreation area.
Though primarily known for its excellent fishing, Strawberry Reservoir is also an ideal boating destination near Heber Valley. There are four marinas (•Strawberry Bay Marina, Renegade, Soldier Creek Marina and Aspen) with their boat ramps that each feature boat rentals and gasoline access. Water temperatures tend to be on the cool side, but water skiers, wakeboarders and personal watercraft operators love this mountain reservoir.
Deer Creek is a medium-sized reservoir located in Heber Valley, just a short drive from Park City. The reservoir is a popular recreation spot because it is scenic and offers ideal conditions for boating, wakeboarding, water skiing and more.

Staying in the Deer Valley area? Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Eriksen Lodge is an award winner, usually open for dinner but brunch is served on Sundays from 11 AM to 2 PM at this Forbes 4 Star Rated restaurant.
Nourishment and flavor are the two words that come to mind when we think about Five Seeds, and they agree! This local restaurant uses seasonal products and offers amazing service. The menu features many different options for all the tastes. Don’t forget to order your fresh brew coffee!
350 Main Brasserie on Main St. invites you to enjoy modern American cuisine in an upscale, mountain dining atmosphere. Open every Sunday of the summer from 10am to 2pm. Our favorite dish is the Truffle Cheese and Asian Pear Crêpe, you can check their menu online.
Does Brazilian-American fusion sound good to you? The Bridge Café is next to the town lift in Main St. and offers breakfast all day! Can’t choose between the benedicts or their big omelets? Here is their menu, and don’t forget your mimosa!

What better than a full day activity and have a one on one with Dad?
