IT’S TIME TO START PLANNING YOUR PERFECT GETAWAY TO PARK CITY IN WINTER!

Our winter countdown has officially begun and we are so excited for when the first flakes grace us with their presence. In the meantime, as we dream about shredding all the pow, we are here to help you create your dream winter vacation when you visit Park City.

With three different world-class ski resorts in town and multiple neighborhoods, it can be overwhelming to figure out which area is best for your group! No matter what you’re looking for, Abode has an extensive portfolio of luxury vacation rental homes throughout Park City, with one perfectly suited for you! Below we’ve highlighted the main areas of town, the perks of staying in each location, and ease of access to get you closest to the action you’re looking for to create unforgettable winter vacation memories!

Once you’ve decided on a place to stay, the real fun begins! Park City may be best known as a skier/snowboarder’s paradise and our “greatest snow on earth”, but there’s so much more to experience! Whether you’re looking for something to do while others in your group hit the slopes, or family activities for a day off the mountain, we’ve highlighted a few of our favorites down below, PLUS a sweet deal to get you here with a $300 Delta Travel voucher on us!*

WHERE TO STAY

OLD TOWN

A stay in Old Town puts you just steps to Park City’s Historic Main Street, offering an extensive array of casual to fine dining, nightlife, shopping & cultural experiences, all within walking distance from your Abode. Not to mention, skiing and snowboarding are super accessible, with several of our Old Town offerings just a short walk from Park City Mountain’s

Town Lift, and even a few on Park City’s famed “Gold Coast” of only 22 ski-in/ski-out properties on Woodside Avenue! Keep in mind, parking is often limited in Old Town with its historic mining-era homes and narrow streets, so we typically recommend limiting the number of vehicles for your group, and taking advantage of Park City’s Free Transit system, with the main Transit Hub in the middle of Main Street to take you to all resorts and throughout all of Park City!
Check out some of our favorite Old Town properties if you want to stay right in the mix of it all, or browse all of our Old Town Abodes here!:

DEER VALLEY

For families of skiers, staying in the Deer Valley area is quite convenient as we have a variety of properties that give you direct ski-in/ski-out access or just a short walk or complimentary shuttle ride to the slopes at the luxurious Deer Valley Resort. Enjoy 360º Wasatch views, a little more solitude and

oftentimes more spacious properties for your group to spread out, in this resort setting. Keep in mind, Deer Valley is a skiers-only resort, so if there are snowboarders in your group you may consider a stay in Old Town or the Canyons area for quicker access to the slopes!

hopping on the Red Pine Gondola or the Orange Bubble Express at the Canyons base area to get you up the hill in a jiffy. Formerly the third independent ski resort in Park City, Canyons Resort is now a part of Vail Resorts-owned, Park City Mountain Resort, operating as One Park City Resort with the new Quicksilver Gondola connecting visitors from the Canyons side to the Park City side and back for a full-mountain experience with ease!

WHAT TO DO

If you are looking for activities to do other than the obvious we’ve compiled a list of our “Top 10 Favorite Things to do During the Winter that is NOT Skiing and Snowboarding”.

SNOWSHOEING

Rent a pair of snowshoes from White Pine Touring and take them out on one of the many trails around Park City to enjoy some winter wandering. If you don’t feel comfortable going out on your own, book a guided snowshoes tour with White Pine.

SNOW BIKING

Another exhilarating activity to try this winter is Fat Biking. Rent bikes at White Pine Touring and head over to Round Valley. Those summer dirt trails are now covered in snow and are groomed for a different kind of biking experience

STROLL HISTORIC MAIN STREET

Spend an afternoon perusing the shops on Main Street. Grab a cocktail at the No Name Saloon or have a bite to eat at one of our fantastic dining establishments.

This classic family winter tradition has now become easier with recent upgrades to our tubing hill including the addition of a new magic carpet and an increased number of lanes for tubing! Woodward Park City offers snow tubing with conveniences to produce nothing but smiles for the whole family.

FITNESS AND WELLNESS

For those who want a break from the slopes, but want to keep active, Park City offers a variety of fitness centers with drop-in options.  Swimming, tennis, spin classes, or time spent with a personal trainer are all great ways to exercise inside.  Follow these up with time in a steam shower, or, if you’re in need of deep relaxation, treat yourself to a day at the spa.  Or you can hire your very own personal trainer like Stoke Coach Rachel Friedman Elberts to come to your house or meet you at a trailhead and create a custom outdoor fitness experience.

DOG SLEDDING

A perfect way to rest your legs, dog sledding offers unique views and access to more remote areas with stunning views, peace, and quiet in the areas surrounding Park City.  Dog sledding is great for families to enjoy together, or for those looking for an escape, a romantic activity for two!
